How Training WOrks
-
We listen. We want to know what it is you’re trying to accomplish with training. If your goal is something our training can help with, we’ll talk with you about how we can assist and what types of training we offer that may fit your objectives.
-
Once everyone has agreed that our training can help your team achieve its goals and that the timeline works, we’ll create a proposal for you. Our proposal will include deliverables including: the training course or topic you’ve selected; any extra learning segments; number of students; requested dates; method of delivery (online or in person); instructor name; and pricing.
-
Pricing is dependent on a number of factors including availability, level of customization, location, and period over which course will be delivered.
All training is pre-paid.
-
Scheduling is only locked in once a contract has been signed and payment has been received.
-
A contract must be signed by your company’s signing authority. Depending on the organization, this can take as little as a few days or it can take weeks. Some times contracts must be routed through a line of management and legal departments for approval.
A contract is necessary for all work Beaufort Fairmont does. It sets expectations for how our organizations will work together. Clear expectations lead to better outcomes for everyone.
-
We provide a description of the curriculum we plan to deliver so that you can ensure you’re getting what you expect ahead of time. This curriculum overview will be comprised of learning objectives, outcomes, and topic covered.
We want your questions and concerns during this phase, so that we can make sure to deliver on your expectations. All questions are welcome.
-
Whether we do training onsite or online, planning and preparation is needed. Preparation your team needs to do in advance is will be updated in the curriculum overview as well as communicated directly with you. We’ll also make sure to work together to ensure anything needed is done before training. Examples of this are:
– Programming language installation;
– Programming library installation;
– Other software needed for exercises including IDEs, etc;
– Plugins for browsers;
– Plugins for IDEs, browsers, etc;
– Access to urls or IPs that may need to be whitelisted with your IT group;
– Access to online platforms we require such as MS Teams;
– Adequate user privileges on trainee computers;
– Support from IT during beginning of training;
When clients are not prepared for training, everyone suffers and curriculum may have to be truncated because of it. We’ll do everything we can to share with you what needs to happen before training, but it is up to you to make sure your company’s systems are ready.
Additionally, we’ll work with you to ensure that for onsite training, your training facility meets the needs of students and instructors.
We ask that managers of all trainees clear trainees of normal daily duties in order to fully attend training with no distractions. Distracted trainees don’t learn as much, take away from other trainees’ experiences and lead to less effective training.
-
On the first day of training, we will meet with our point of contact prior to the start of training in the training space to make everything is ready to go.
We work hard to make training as enjoyable and memorable as possible, so that students are ready to use their new skills as they leave training.
-
Many times, a follow up session or two is needed to help ingrain learnings and skills. Much of the learning in training is best understood when trainees begin using their new skills in practice. We want to support that as much as possible.
